I experience art as a space of freedom, exploration and inner movement. In my work I gravitate between layers of energy that flow through the visible and invisible spectrum. I'm drawn to what we can see and what we can only feel — vibration, presence, movement, emotion, and the energy that exists between people, nature and space.
I don't try to render reality literally. I'm interested in the emotion reality awakens, and the trace that remains once we step away from it.
My painting happens intuitively. The movements of my brush are layered, free and untamed — an extension of my thought. I don't always try to control the mark left on canvas. I let strokes, colour, texture and chance encounters of material collide and build a new reality.
